Minute for the 13 March Meeting

Due to the requisite quorum not being present last week, meeting was cancelled.

The following was the minute for 13 March 2008 Meeting.

Minute of the Weekly Regular Meeting of Rotary Club of Seberang Jaya held at Safira Club on Thursday, 13 March 2008 at 7.30pm

Attendance : President George Lim, Francis Chuah, KK Ooi, KK Koay, Francis Ang, PL Ng, KBG, Yanthi and Ann Ang

Appologies : Vincent Tan, Li Chin, Raccio, Frankie, Bryan, Eric, Ben, Kali, LK Wong & Dr. Tan

Visiting Rtn : PP Siva from RC Butterworth

Visiting Guest:

1. Commencement - The meeting commenced at 8.05pm with the requisite quorum being present. Meeting was conducted by President George Lim. A toast to our Royal Patron Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di Pertuan Agung was proposed.
2. Rotation of Meeting Venue - There was no suggestion to change meeting venue, therefore we shall meet in Safira Club as usual.
3. Report from Treasurer (KK Koay) - No report
4. Report from Community Director (Ann Ang) - (1) Ann reported that the actual stock of wheelchair are 2, she shall conduct a reconciliation to verify the record and report to the meeting next week. (2) SPCA Food Fair, Club has agreed to participate in the food fair, it falls on 27 April 2008 in Kota Permai (they especially requested that we sell ice cream which is agreed by the club). (3) Mount Miriam Hospital Food Fair, it is also resolved that we shall participate in this food fair. Date, time & venue shall be reported by President George.
5. Club Service Director (KBG) - (1) FA reported that he has not been able to set up a test website for the cub before we embark into a paid website. (2) PE Francis Chuah ask the Club if we would like to participate in the coming district assembly souvenir program. AG to-be PP Siva informed that every group were asked to participate in this program where he has paid on our behalf for the said program. He also stressed that it is up to the club to decide whether to pay the RM250.00 back to him. KK Ooi reminded the club that it is not in our history that we have participated in these program before, we shall come up with a decision by next meeting.
6. International Service Director (Raccio) - FA reported on behalf of Bryan that RC Medan Sudirman has invited our club to participate in their annual Jalan Sihat Project which we have supported in a few occasion. It is resolved that none of the member could attend this function but we shall donate RM1,000.00 to this project.
7. Vocational Service Director (Yanthi) - No Report
8. New Geeration Service Director (Bryan) - It is confirmed that we have sponsored 2 interactor to attend RYLA, RM900.00 has been paid into RC Melawati account for this event.

Other Matters

1. Polio Plus USD100.00, we have pledge to contribute to this, PP Raymond Ooi asked that we get ready a banker's cheque and pass to him when he is here.
2. There is no further news for Francis Tan case, we shall put it aside until he come back to the club.
3. Vincent invited all club members to attend his wedding in Kuantan this coming weekend.

There being no other matters to discuss, meeting adjourned at 8.45pm with a toast to Rotary International.
